How We Handle Your Data
KeyPulse is built so that testing your keyboard requires no trust in us at all. Every key detection runs entirely in your browser, on your own device. When you press a key, your operating system delivers that input to the web page, and JavaScript running locally highlights the corresponding key on screen. No keystroke ever leaves your computer: nothing you type is transmitted to our servers, written to a database, or stored anywhere. Close the tab, and every trace of your test is gone from memory.
Like most websites, KeyPulse may use standard cookies and privacy-friendly analytics to understand aggregate traffic — for example, how many people visit the tester or which pages are most useful. This data is page-level and anonymous; it never includes the content of what you type while testing. We also rely on a small number of third-party services, such as our hosting provider, to deliver the site itself. Those providers handle only routine technical data involved in standard web delivery and operate under their own privacy obligations. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with advertisers, and we never build profiles of individual users.
We keep this keyboard tester privacy policy deliberately short: because our tool works locally, there is very little data to govern. Is the KeyPulse keyboard tester safe to use?
Yes. The tester runs entirely in your web browser with no downloads, no account, and no browser permissions required. Because key detection happens on your own device rather than on a server, there is no upload step where your input could be exposed — one of the main reasons testers like ours are considered safe for checking keyboards before typing sensitive information.
Does the keyboard tester record keystrokes?
No. When you press a key, the browser registers the input, KeyPulse highlights it on the virtual keyboard, and that's the end of it. Keystrokes are displayed only for the duration of your session and are never transmitted, logged, or stored by us. You can safely test passwords, messages, or anything else — just clear your own screen if you're working in a shared space.
What information do you collect when I visit the site?
At most, anonymous aggregate analytics about page visits, plus the routine technical data involved in any web request (such as connection details handled by our hosting provider for security and uptime). None of it is tied to the content of what you type. We do not use advertising trackers or sell data to third parties.
Can I keep testing after losing my internet connection?
In most cases, yes. Since all key detection is performed locally in your browser, an already-loaded page can continue registering key presses even if your connection drops. If you refresh while offline, you'll need to wait until the page can reload — but once it's loaded, testing doesn't depend on our servers.
